From the Principal
The 2019 school year has begun, and I am thrilled with how well the children have settled in, rekindled old friendships and made new ones. We warmly welcome 10 new families who have joined us this year.
Each child is unique and brings to our ACC community something special. God created each one of us unique and whole. We celebrate the differences and enjoy the challenge of helping each child to succeed in whatever God has created them to be and do. We are creating a safe and challenging learning community where every child will flourish. We are really excited to be working with you in this process.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke: 6-8
Parent & Teacher Meetings - Week 7
Communication between parents and teachers is important at ACC. We want to ensure parents are fully informed of their child’s progress and how we can all support their learning journey.
The teachers have begun their assessments to determine the children’s current literacy and numeracy skill levels, to inform them of the next steps to helping the children thrive.
You will have an opportunity in Week 7 to book a time with your child’s teacher to discuss the results of these assessments. You will soon be sent an email to set a time for this meeting.
Parents and Friends (P&F) - Mon 18th Feb
Parents are a vital part of ACC. The foundation of a successful school community is the cooperation between the school and parents. A key part of this partnership is the Parents and Friends Association. This group meets once a month to discuss how best to support our ACC community.
Last year the P&F organised successful sausage sizzles at Spud Shed, and at our own Sport’s Carnival, to raise money to help towards the purchase of musical instruments. Being part of the P&F gives parents opportunities to stay connected, make friends, keep informed about what’s happening, plus offer suggestions for improvement.
You are invited to a P&F information session on Monday 18th Feb 6-7pm, to introduce the P&F committee to you, and to explain how you might be part of building a thriving ACC community.
We are blessed to have the most amazing team of dedicated and talented people at ACC. Here is the list of staff for 2019.

ACC Playgroup - welcomes Jiggle Bugs 3.0
Jiggle Bugs, Australian Christian College Darling Downs Playgroup, has had a fantastic year, and continues to grow in numbers. The group meets every Tuesday morning, and this term the children are having farm fun times. It has been so encouraging to see a few more new families visit.
The exciting news is the launch of a Wednesday group. It is for children who will be 3 or more years old. Jiggle Bugs 3.0 is a place where families can come and learn through play in a warm, safe, engaging, developmentally stimulating and fun environment.
The focus of Jiggle Bugs 3.0 is on the needs and interests of all children, as individuals, and as a group, whilst incorporating the main developmental areas of Early Childhood Education – social, emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual.
You can follow the updates, and let your friends know by going to the Jiggle-Bugs Facebook page.
Enrolments for 2019
Places for 2019 are filling up fast, and we are excited about our continued growth, and hope you are too.
If you have a family member, friend, neighbour or colleague who has Primary aged children who would benefit from joining our incredible learning community, let them know we have places left.
Bring them in to meet Mrs Burrage, who will be happy to show them around.
