Newsletter T3W10 2018

We can learn a lot from our children, including not giving up.

Last week Mrs Zanich and I held the Year 4/5/6 camp where children had opportunities to set challenging goals for themselves, work as a team, serve others and experience new things. Activities included archery, swinging 8 metres in the air, supporting a local daycare playing with 3 year olds, and bounding on the trampolines at Jump.

Yesterday was our annual Sport’s Carnival, organised by the amazing Mr Megarrity, and supported by a myriad of teachers, parents and students. Maximum participation and opportunities to shine were achieved through races, including hurdles, egg and spoon, 100, 200 & 600 metres, and relays, plus team games, like corner spry and leader ball. It was a great day.

What has impressed me the most is the positive ‘can do’ attitude that all the children have shown in both of these events. Each one showed determination and a ‘never give up’ attitude. Even when the ‘butterflies in their tummies’ were very strong, or things didn’t seem to be going well, they kept going.

We can learn courage and perseverance from our amazing children.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
Hebrews 12:1-2

The next P&F meeting will be held on Tuesday 9th October at 6:00pm.
