From the Principal
Christmas is an opportunity to remember and celebrate a key part of God’s amazing big story - the birth of Jesus. Without the coming of Jesus, there would be no happy ending.
God’s Big Story can be summarised in four parts – the Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. It is the story of God’s perfect creation, a people made in His image, and a world made for them to enjoy in relationship with each other and Him.
It is a story of rebellion, of a people whose fall and its devastating consequences shape history. Left to themselves, these people face a bleak future.
It is the story of redemption, through Christ’s selfless sacrifice, a single, transcendent act that could only be initiated by God Himself, and which makes personal salvation possible. By God’s grace the causes of injustice, pain and abandonment are overcome by sacrificial love.
It is the story of what happens next: the restoration of relationship between God and His people and of people with each other, when Christ returns. The bleak prospect of a future without hope is overcome by the promise of a restored creation: the Kingdom of God.
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will call his name Immanuel (God with us)”.
As this is the last newsletter for 2017, I would like to express sincere appreciation to you for your support this year. The year has had its surprises and opportunities, and God has been with us every step of the way. The ACC staff and I pray that you have a safe and peaceful holiday. We look forward to seeing you in 2018.
Room 3 is having a makeover! The Assembly Room is being renovated in readiness for 2018 when it will be transformed into the new Year 2/3 classroom. The room will have new carpet, chairs and state of the art technology, as well as a fresh coat of paint.
