From the Principal

Have you noticed the signs pointing towards Christmas? Once the mince pies, lights and decorations are set up in the large shopping centres, we know what is coming.

One of the many things I appreciate about God’s Big Story, as told in the Bible, is how God spoke to many people, hundreds of years before Jesus was born, to tell us that Jesus was coming, when and where He would be born, and the reasons why He was being sent.

Micah, a prophet, who lived around 700 years before Christ (BC), spoke about “One who would go forth” from Bethlehem to be a ruler for God. Daniel, another prophet, who lived around 600 BC, foretold the number of years before the Messiah the Prince would come. We also know, from Isaiah, 700 years BC, that the sign God would give us was that a virgin would bear a son, calling Him Immanuel, God with us.

So when I see the Christmas trees, fruit cakes and hams in the shops, it reminds me that a time is coming soon when Christians around the world will celebrate the birth of Jesus. And that is something to be really excited about.

“For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6-7

ACC Garden Makeover with Bunnings

On Wednesday a team from Bunnings Armadale came to help us plant a hedge in front of the school. Children, and some parents, came prepared with gardening gloves and clothes. The Bunning’s Team arrived with plants, mulch and shovels. Everyone worked really hard. Come and have a look and see for yourself!

Christmas Concert

Keep Monday evening, 4th December, 6.00pm-8.00pm, free to come to our Christmas Concert, being held at Byford Baptist Church, on the corner of Stanley Street and South West Hwy, Byford. We’ll celebrate the birth of Jesus, the children will be performing on stage, book prizes will be given out to selected students from each class, and we’ll share a supper afterwards.
